To tell if someone likes you over text, look at how they act across the whole chat, not at one message: who starts conversations, how fast each of you replies, whether they ask questions back and make plans. Red Flag: Cringe Chat Analyzer counts those from a WhatsApp export (or reads them from screenshots) and gives an interest level for each of you, side by side, with a read of what it means.
You've reread the last message five times. You've asked two friends, who disagree. The answer was in the chat the whole time; it's just spread over weeks of messages, and nobody reads a chat that way.
Why a quiz can't answer this
A "does he like me" quiz asks you questions: how does he look at you, does he text you good morning. Your answers are shaped by how much you want it to be true, and the quiz has nothing else to go on. Your chat does. It holds who reached out first, how long each reply took and what was actually said, with a timestamp on every line.
Quick self-check: 8 questions you can answer from the chat
No upload needed for this part. Scroll back through the last few weeks and answer honestly:
- After a quiet stretch, who sent the first message, most of the time?
- Do they ask you questions back, or only answer yours?
- Are their replies getting shorter, or staying about the same?
- Do they write at any time of day, or only late at night?
- Have they suggested a plan with an actual day attached?
- Do they bring up something you told them before?
- When a conversation dies, do they ever bring it back?
- Is their reply time steady, or slower every week?
Mostly them: a good sign. Mostly you: the interest may be uneven, and it's worth looking closer. The signs in detail are in how to tell if someone likes you over text.
What the analyzer measures
- Interest level for each of you, side by side, read by the AI from the chat.
- Who starts: who opens the conversation after a silence of six hours or more, as a percentage.
- Reply speed: the average time each of you takes to answer.
- Who texts more and how long your messages are, for both of you.
- A verdict, the red flags with how serious each is, and what to do next, with a suggested reply.
With a WhatsApp export the numbers are counted from every message. Before the read, pick the topic "Do they like me back?" and the read answers exactly that.
Reading the result
A low interest level for the other person means the chat shows it, not that they told you. Read it together with the numbers. If they start a third of the conversations and reply as fast as you do, a lower score is about tone, not effort. If they rarely start and replies keep slowing down, the score and the numbers agree.
A short chat says less. With fewer than 30 messages the app warns you before the read, because a few days of texting can't show a pattern. If the chat is new, check again in a few weeks.
Does he like me, or does she?
It works the same whoever you're asking about. The read is about what the two of you wrote, not about who you are.
